Wire Project

Ukulele - February 2017

Piece Statement:

As a kid I always wanted to be an adult, I wanted to be treated like a grown up and be able to do grown up things. When I started my first job I wanted to spend my first paycheck on something “big” that would make me feel like taking my first step into adulthood. I’ve always had a strong connection to art but wanted to broaden my other talents. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I could remember so pursing music was a no brainer. I learned a valuable lesson. Just because you want something now doesn’t mean that you will want it forever. Still to this day I barely know how to play my ukulele. I am continuously going through changes in my life, my family, my friends, and my art work that develop every day. Bringing in life lessons into my art work help me create pieces of work that hold more valuable meanings to me. Working with wire is all new to me so I want to replicate the ukulele to the best of my abilities. I will continue to develop my artistic abilities throughout the course and work with new mediums.

Supplies:

Tie Wire, Needle-Nose Pliers, and Wire Cutters
